    A hospital in Longgang District holds a capacity of 1300 hospital beds at the completion of phase-Ⅱ construction

    The second phase of The Sixth People’s Hospital of Longgang District, Shenzhen opens to public on September 16, to further improve the medical condition and to better serve the residents.The Sixth People’s Hospital of Longgang District, Shenzhen, also named Shenzhen Center, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College, is a pubic, comprehensive grade-Ⅱhospital, according to Chinese health care classification. Located at the core of Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City in Pingdi Sub-district of Longgang District, it offers various medical services, spanning first aid, medical treatment, medical education and research. Covering approximately 57,600 square meters, the hospital has 1300 beds for the patients in total, specifically including 600 medical ones and 700 elderly-care ones. It is developing towards a comprehensive grade-Ⅲ hospital which specializes in geriatrics and integrates medical treatment with elderly care. It aims at being a model in the Greater Bay Area for the integration of medical treatment and health care.The hospital encompasses numerous clinical departments and medical laboratories, including Emergency Department, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Gastroenterology Department, Respiratory Department, Endocrinology Department, Geriatric Medicine Department, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Department of Medical Cosmetology, Intensive Care Unit. It sets up 10 community-level health service centers.Besides, the hospital makes great efforts to establish a plastic surgery and cosmetology center, to offer the citizens quality and professional services.

    Football test event of the 15th National Games of the PRC commenced in Longgang District and other 3 districts of Shenzhen on Sep. 10

    On September 10, the football test event of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China (Shenzhen Division) commenced simultaneously in Futian District, Bao’an District, Longgang District and Guangming District of Shenzhen. Then, 8 teams are scheduled to participate in the test event, including 152 athletes and 24 technical officials.The test event serves as a rehearsal of great significance for the latter formal football event of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China. Longgang District has prepared a high-standard and professionalized condition for 30 athletes and 6 technical officials to drill for the latter football event.On the evening, Shenzhen Municipal U16A Team competed with Shenzhen Municipal U16B Team at the field in Longgang District. Eventually, Shenzhen Municipal U16B Team won at the score of 5:1. And, the No.11 player of Shenzhen Municipal U16B Team won the title of the “Best Player”.According to the schedule of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, the men’s U18 and U20 football would take place at Shenzhen Bao’an Sports Center Stadium (in Bao’an District of Shenzhen), Shenzhen Sports Center Stadium (in Futian District of Shenzhen), Shenzhen Municipal Teenager Football Training Base (in Guangming District of Shenzhen) and Shenzhen Universiade Center Stadium (in Longgang District of Shenzhen).

    6 golds awarded as the gateball final of the 15th National Games of the PRC concluded in Longgang District

    On August 27, the final of gateball, a mass competition of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, came to an end at Shenzhen Universiade Center Stadium, in Longgang District of Shenzhen. 28 teams competed in the 6 divisions of the gateball event, and 6 gold medals were awarded.Team of Henan Province became a big success, winning 2 gold medals in the five-a-side mixed division A and the team race. Team of Jiangsu Province won the gold of the five-a-side mixed division B, while Team of An’hui Province got the gold of the five-a-side mixed division C.     The 45th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone falls on August 26.Some Data on Shenzhen’s Achievements of the past 45 Years 1In 1980 when Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was founded, the GDP (gross domestic product) was 270 million yuan in total. Shenzhen’s GDP rose year on year on a constant-price basis by 5.8% to 3680.187 billion yuan in 2024, according to the data released by Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Statistics.2Shenzhen’s total import-export volume was 17.51 million dollars in 1980. In 2024, Shenzhen’s imports and exports ranked first in the nation with the total value of 4.5 trillion yuan, accounting for 30.4% of the nation’s total import and export volume, according to the customs authority. Therefore, the city’s export volume alone has been in the top rank of the nation for 32 consecutive years.3In 1980, Shenzhen accommodated over 300,000 permanent residents. By the end of 2024, the number of permanent residents in the city has risen to 17989,500.4In 2024, there have been over 25,000 national hi-tech enterprises and over 23,000 medium- and small-sized sci-tech enterprises across Shenzhen, with the PCT patent application volume ranked first in the nation for the 21st year.     The 15th National Games welcomed the 3 gateball champions

    On the evening of August 24, the five-a-side mixed division C (for the players aged 12-18 years old) of the gateball event, one of the non-professional sports competitions of the 15th National Games of the PRC,concluded, with Team of An’hui Province winning the gold medal.Team of Henan Province and Team of Jiangsu Province respectively won the gold medals of the five-a-side mixed divisions A and B.Additionally, Team of Guangdong Province got the 8th place, 11th place and 5th place of the five-a-side mixed divisions A, B, and C respectively.The men’s doubles and women’ doubles, as two divisions of the gateball event, would come to an end on August 27. 

    The 15th National Games gets the final of the gateball event held in Longgang District (Aug.22 - Aug. 27)

    The final of gateball event, as one of non-professional competitions of the 15th National Games of the PRC, commenced on August 22 at Shenzhen Universiade Center Stadium in Longgang District of Shenzhen, and would last to August 27.The gateball finals are being held, comprised of 6 divisions: five-a-side mixed division A (for males aged 61-70 years old and females aged 56-70 years old), five-a-side mixed division B (for males aged 19-60 years old and females aged 19-55 years old), five-a-side mixed division C ( for the 12-18 years old), team races, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles. The diverse divisions reflect the extensive participation of the masses at different ages. And, 6 gold medals would be awarded.459 players of 28 teams in China are scheduled to take part in the gateball event. Guangdong Province delegates 32 players, including 8 ones from Shenzhen Municipality, to the gateball event. Hong Kong SAR delegates 37 players, and Macao SAR delegates 17 players to compete on the court.The gateball event symbolizes the beginning of the 15th National Games in Shenzhen. It is introduced that 52 events of 7 non-professional sport competitions would take place in Shenzhen, accounting for 34% of the total to be held in Guangdong Province. Specifically, in the August-November, the popular events like gateball and badminton, the mind sports events including Weiqi and chess, and a series of innovative events integrating science and sports are being and would be held in Shenzhen. 2249 players and 624 professional judges are estimated to engage in the events.It is announced that Longgang District of Shenzhen is delegated to host 6 sports events. Apart from the recycling events of The 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the 9th National Special Olympic Games of the PRC that have been held in July, the football event, basketball event and swimming event of the 15th National Games, as well as the swimming event of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the 9th National Special Olympic Games, would take place in Longgang District of Shenzhen in the following October-December.
