    SHANGHAI, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE), which started here on Sunday, received acclaim from foreign leaders and officials for its contributions to providing business opportunities to global enterprises, fostering international trade and cooperation, and promoting global economic development.Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that both Australia and China have benefited from regional development and stability. He said that trade in goods and services has nearly doubled since the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement came into force in 2015, making more high-quality Australian products available to consumers in China and providing key inputs to Chinese businesses.The Australian government will continue to promote cooperation as it is in the interests of Australia and China to have a relationship through dialogue and cooperation, Albanese said.Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said that Cuba attaches great importance to and continuously participates in the critical event.The convening of the 6th CIIE will help the international community promote a global economic recovery and world trade development more innovatively and effectively, said Marrero.China is Kazakhstan's largest trading partner, and bilateral cooperation has achieved a series of results, said Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, adding that more than 30 Kazakh enterprises take part in the 6th CIIE.Kazakhstan will continue to use the platform to bring more of its high-quality products to the vast Chinese market, said the Kazakh prime minister.The next "30 golden years" of Kazakhstan-China relations will witness substantial development opportunities, with economic and trade cooperation playing an important role, the Kazakh prime minister added.The sixth CIIE is a "good opportunity to further consolidate and deepen Serbia-China relations," said Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.She said that Serbia is one of the first countries to recognize the importance of the expo, adding that the country has attracted many Chinese investors.     News from XINHUAChina's financial sector has been moving toward high-quality development over the past few years, prompted by sustained efforts to deepen supply-side structural reform, advance opening-up, and coordinate the relationship between development and security.The following are some facts, figures, and reviews of policies highlighting the financial sector's feats in progressing into high-quality development.REAL ECONOMY UNDERPINNEDFinancial services are the lifeline of the real economy. China boasts the world's largest banking system and second-largest insurance, stock, and bond markets. Its financial system thus vigorously supports the sound development of the economy and society.From 2014 to September 2023, the second-largest economy saw its outstanding yuan-denominated loans issued to the real economy shoot up to over 230 trillion yuan (about 32.04 trillion U.S. dollars) from 81.43 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth of 10 percent, generally in line with the nominal GDP growth, data from the People's Bank of China (PBOC) reveals.Financial departments have been tilting resources toward small and micro enterprises, technology innovation, and other priority or weak areas.Data shows that by the end of September, outstanding inclusive loans issued to small and micro firms had totaled 28.74 trillion yuan. The annual growth rate of such loans stood at a notable level of 25 percent in the past five years.FINANCIAL STABILITY CEMENTEDHeightened policy focus is not the sole reason for the stable influx of capital to the real economy.     On Oct. 07, Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality publicizes the Announcement to Suggestion Collection for Shenzhen’s Business Site Plan (called simply Announcement in the following of the text). According to the Announcement, Universiade Commercial Circle in Longgang District is the only one in east Shenzhen rated as a national-grade commercial circle to be constructed prominently.As publicized in the Announcement, Shenzhen Municipality plans to build its “four-class and multiple-element” commercial system, forms four-class structure of commercial consumption space including world class, national class, district class and community class, arranges the spacial layout of the commercial circles and community commercial spots of different classes based on the commercial circles’ current condition, potential radiation capability, scale and spacial layout, optimizes commercial content and orientation, builds up “5+7+42+N” commercial circle system all over Shenzhen, to meet the multiple consumption demands from different consumers. Moreover, the 3 national-class commercial circles to be constructed prominently are Shekou Sea World Commercial Circle, Longhua Supper Commercial Circle and Longgang Universiade Commercial Circle. It means that Longgang Universiade Commercial Circle is the only one in east Shenzhen rated as the national-class commercial circle to be constructed prominently.The Announcement stipulates that a national-class leading commercial circle is often 500,000 - 1000,000 square meters large. It is oriented towards the consumers in Greater Bay Area, as well as consumers from other cities of China, as it can help improve domestic commercial circulation, meet the target of building international and national-class tourism and consumption destinations, have the large-scale and high-quality comprehensive consumption functions as shopping, catering, entertainment, cultural experience service, and it can also upgrade consumption, develop fashion-graft model and explore creative resources to form inter-disciplinary and experience-oriented commercial format and to develop the Asian influential consumption landmark gathering high-end branches, highlighting urban style, blending commercial function together with different urban functions.According to the plan, Longgang Universiade Commercial Circle would serve as a district-class sports consumption “engine”, forming an ecology of developing sport consumption and experience-oriented consumption based on the sports events held around Shenzhen Universiade Center and Longgang Central City; and would serve as as a modern and international “new urban parlor”, supplementing high-quality commercial space for technological talents and the youth talents of Hong Kong and Shenzhen around Shenzhen International Universities Park.Besides, Henggang Commercial Circle, Nanlian Commercial Circle, Bantian Commercial Circle, Buji Commercial Circle and Pinghu Commercial Circle are among the 42 district-level active commercial circles, as planned.     On July 12, 2023 Shenzhen (International) Urban Environment and Landscape Industry Exhibition opens at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, in Futian District of Shenzhen. The Exhibition would last for three days. As the first exhibition to be centered on city appearance and environment industry in China, the Exhibition, with its theme as “Beautiful City·Better Life”, mainly has five exhibition areas, covering an area of 45,000 square meters. It attracts 560 enterprises from the industries as environmental sanitation industry, landscaping industry, urban lighting industry, smart city management industry, as well as the upstream and downstream industries.     News from Xinhua: China unveils regulation on private investment funds

    BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China published a regulation on Sunday concerning the supervision and administration of private investment funds, the country's first administrative regulation on the sector, marking the latest move to safeguard the healthy development of the industry and protect investors.The regulation, with 62 items in seven chapters, will come into effect on Sept. 1, 2023, the State Council said in a statement.The regulation aims to encourage the standardized and healthy development of the private investment fund industry, better protect the legitimate rights and interests of investors, and encourage the industry to further play a role in serving the real economy and promoting scientific and technological innovation.The regulation clarifies the scope of application, specifies the obligations and requirements of private fund managers and custodians, regulates fundraising and investment operations, and strengthens supervision and management as well as legal liability.The new rules also make special provisions for venture capital funds, showing that China is encouraging investment into technology companies and start-ups.Also on Sunday, China's top securities regulator said it would make solid efforts to promote the implementation of the regulation, draw up related measures and rules, and further refine the regulatory requirements, to better leverage the positive role of private investment funds in satisfying financing demands.The private investment fund sector has developed rapidly in China, playing a positive role in serving the real economy while supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.As of May, about 22,000 private investment managers had been registered, managing funds of around 21 trillion yuan (about 2.92 trillion U.S. dollars), ranking among the top globally.Notice:Passage from Xinhua We respect your intellectual property right and your other lawful rights.
