    BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on Thursday said that it will guide the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the China Financial Futures Exchange to strengthen their standards of supervision for abnormal transactions, and that it will crack down on illegal activities such as market manipulation and insider trading in accordance with laws and regulations.In a statement on its website, the CSRC said that these efforts are for maintaining the market's normal trading order."Regulatory authorities do not interfere with normal market transactions, and we seek to protect investors' rights to fair and free transactions in accordance with the law. However, we will resolutely crack down on illegal activities that disrupt the market trading order, in accordance with laws and regulations," the statement said.Recently, the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges took regulatory measures to crack down on the abnormal trading behavior of an institution in accordance with regulations, the CSRC statement said."That's fulfilling their trading supervision responsibilities, not limiting share selling," said the CSRC statement.On Feb. 19, the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges issued separate statements that named Lingjun Investment, a major quant fund, as an entity that had disrupted orderly market trading.     BEIJING, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's gross domestic product (GDP) posted a growth of 5.2 percent year on year in 2023, higher than the annual target of around 5 percent, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed Wednesday.The country's GDP reached a record of 126.06 trillion yuan (about 17.71 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2023, the NBS data showed.Despite external pressure and internal difficulties, China has successfully achieved the major targets set for 2023 and recorded a rebound and improvements in the economy, Kang Yi, head of the NBS, told a press conference.He also cautioned that the economic growth still faces some difficulties and challenges as the the external environment has become more complex and severe with increased uncertainties.In the fourth quarter, the Chinese economy expanded 5.2 percent year on year, and the country's economy grew 1 percent quarter on quarter, according to the NBS.China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, went up 4.6 percent year on year in 2023, NBS data showed.Fixed-asset investment went up 3 percent year on year in 2023, while retail sales of consumer goods, a major indicator of the country's consumption strength, climbed 7.2 percent year on year. Notice: the whole text is transferred from Xinhua just for information sharing.Here, we respect your intellectual property right and you other lawful rights.
