It is located at the southern end of Futian District in Shenzhen, facing Lok Ma Chau in Hong Kong. The Huanggang-Lok Ma Chau Bridge spans the Shenzhen River, linking the two areas. The Construction of Huanggang Checkpoint began in May 1985, with the cargo section opening on December 29, 1989 and the passenger section on August 8, 1991. On November 3, 1994, two cargo inspection channels were opened, allowing of 24-hour customs clearance. On March 20, 1997, shuttle bus service between Huanggang and Lok Ma Chau (the Hong Kong port) was launched. Since October 1999, cargo trucks designated to use Wenjindu and Shatoujiao Checkpoints have been allowed to use Huanggang Checkpoint for 24-hour customs clearance, as the former designated checkpoints close at night, except for certain goods and vehicles as regulated.On January 27, 2003, Huanggang Checkpoint implemented 24-hour customs clearance for passenger inspection. Starting from October 8, 2003, private cars, government vehicles, and commercial vehicles with special license plates for Wenjindu and Shatoujiao Checkpoints are allowed to enter and exit Huanggang Checkpoint from midnight to 6:30 a.m. In June 2019, Huanggang Checkpoint redevelopment project was officially launched. Currently, a temporary inspection building has been constructed, covering an area of 51,483 square meters. Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint was officially opened on July 1, 2007, and serves as the first land port in China to operate in the "two inspections in one place" model. With the approval of the State Council, Liantang Checkpoint was officially opened for cargo in August 2020 and passenger inspection was introduced in February 2023. Liantang Checkpoint adopts a "two places, two inspections" system and offers a one-stop clearance model for cargo vehicles. Its designed traffic capacity is for 30,000 passengers and 17,850 vehicles per day. Currently, the peak passenger flow has exceeded 100,000 people, with an average daily flow of 65,000.Luohu Checkpoint Operating hours: 6:30 a.m.-midnight Luohu Checkpoint is situated south of the Luohu Commercial Center, Luohu District. It is also one of the busiest land ports for cross-border passenger traffic in Shenzhen.The Joint Inspection Building started construction in January 1984 and was completed and put into use on June 14, 1986. It covers a total land area of 18,107 square meters. Luohu Checkpoint adopted fingerprint identification technology on June 16, 2006, and opened the first passenger self-service inspection channels on January 1, 2007. Currently, there are a total of 190 inspection channels, including 115 self-service (57 for entry and 58 for exit) and 75 manual (36 for entry and 39 for exit).Wenjindu Checkpoint Operating hours: 7 a.m.-10 p.m.Wenjindu Checkpoint is located in Huangbei Subdistrict, Luohu District. It is adjacent to Liantang Checkpoint to the east and Luohu Checkpoint to the west. It borders Yanhe South Road to the north, and the Shenzhen River to the south, serving as the terminus of G107 National Road. Approved by the State Council, Wenjindu Checkpoint was opened to the public and is one of the only two land ports in Shenzhen that existed before the reform and opening-up period. It is a comprehensive road port for passenger and cargo transport, particularly known for handling the transit of fresh products to Hong Kong. The passenger inspection area started renovation in May 2011, and the inspection services resumed on August 26, 2013.The checkpoint has a total of 30 vehicle inspection channels for entry and exit, comprising 18 truck inspection channels (8 for entry and 10 for exit) and 12 car and bus inspection channels (6 for entry and 6 for exit). For passenger inspections, there are 18 exit channels (8 manual and 10 self-service) and 18 entry channels (8 manual and 10 self-service).Shatoujiao Checkpoint Operating hours: N/AShatoujiao Checkpoint is a passenger and cargo port that serves Yantian and Longgang districts, as well as the eastern region of the Pearl River Delta. It was completed and opened for use in March 1985. A new cross-border bridge was put into operation on January 28, 2005. On January 28, 2020, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced that the passenger inspection services at Shatoujiao Checkpoint would be suspended starting from January 30, 2020. On March 13, 2022, the Office of Port of Entry and Exit of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government announced that cross-border truck drivers must follow designated routes and practice closed-loop management; unauthorized travel entering and exiting Shatoujiao Checkpoint is not allowed. It is adjacent to the Shekou Port on the east; to the south, it faces the Lingding Sea, overlooking Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai across the sea. It connects the Mawan port area and Mawan Power Plant to the west, while the Nanshan Peninsula borders it to the north. The port is 30 kilometers away from downtown Shenzhen, and can be connected with the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Pingnan Railway, and other important highways. By water, it is within a reach of just over 20 nautical miles from Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai.The construction of Chiwan Port began in August 1982 and was completed in October 1983 with a berth capable of handling 10,000 tons. In May 1984, it was approved by the State Council to be opened to foreign vessels. Currently, the port boasts 17 berths, including 6 for container ships, with a total quay length of 3,176 meters. Chiwan Port is one of China's main transshipment bases for bulk fertilizers, grain and oil imports and exports. It is also the second largest port in Shenzhen's western port cluster, following Shekou Port, and serves as a large comprehensive port integrating rail, road, and waterway transport.Mawan PortOperation time: 24 hours every dayMawan Port is situated on the eastern shore of the Pearl River estuary, on the western side of the Nantou Peninsula in Shenzhen. To the east, it connects to Chiwan Port, and to the south, it faces Lingding Sea. Adjacent to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport to the west, the port connects with the main shipping route of the Pearl River estuary and is backed by the Nanshan Peninsula to the north. By land it is 24 kilometers from downtown Shenzhen and is linked to major highways, expressways and railways such as the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway and Pingnan Railway. By water, it is within a reach of just over 20 nautical miles from Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai.Construction of Mawan Port began in 1987, and the first 35,000-ton multi-purpose berth was completed in July 1990. Currently, the port has 14 berths, including 3 for container ships and 2 for coal.Dachan Bay PortOperation time: 24 hours every dayThe Dachan Bay Port is located in Dachan Bay, southeast of the Fanshi Channel in the Lingding sea area at the mouth of the Pearl River, and north of the Mawan Port Area in western Shenzhen. Its advantageous geographical position offers convenient transportation by water and land. The port is situated just 20 nautical miles from Hong Kong to the south and 40 nautical miles from Guangzhou to the north by water. It connects to major highways and expressways including the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Jihe Expressway, National Highway 107, and the under-construction Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway.The coastline of the Dachan Bay Port area extends 11.6 kilometers, encompassing a land area of 10.28 square kilometers. 17 large deep-water container berths, 7 medium-sized berths, and 19 barge berths would be constructed in the furture with an estimated total investment of around 45 billion yuan, for a designed annual throughput capacity of 12.5 million TEUs  Yantian PortOperation time: 24 hours every dayYantian Port is located in the northwest of Dapeng Bay in Shenzhen. It faces the Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong across the sea to the south, and consists of three key areas, namely the Yantian Port Area, the Xiadong Port Area, and the Guangdong Dapeng Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal. Approved by the State Council, the Yantian Port Area was opened to foreign vessels in June 1990, and officially commenced operations in July 1994. It is situated 13 kilometers from downtown Shenzhen and 12 nautical miles from the entrance of Dapeng Bay. Due to the natural protection from the Dapeng Peninsula and Kowloon Peninsula, the bay features deep waters with gentle waves and minimal silt accumulation, allowing large vessels to freely enter and exit the anchorage. This port is recognized as one of the four major international deep-water ports prioritized for development along China's coastline.Within the Yantian Port Area, there are 15 large container berths and 3 multi-purpose berths, which can accommodate container ships exceeding 100,000 tons. The port currently serves nearly 100 international container ships each week. Adjacent to Dapeng Bay, the Xiadong Port Area is designated for disposing hazardous materials, including oil and liquefied gas, in eastern Shenzhen. In December 2002, the State Council approved Xiadong as an area for the disposal of hazardous materials at Yantian Port. This area features three independent trestle-style terminals with a total of 9 berths.The Guangdong Dapeng Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal is located at Chengtoujiao on the Dapeng Peninsula in eastern Shenzhen.
