The 2026 Longgang Wind Music Week drew to a close on Aug 14 at the Longgang District Cultural Center with a rousing closing‑ceremony concert, featuring works of ethnic character, contemporary anthems and well‑known orchestral classics, performed by the Longgang District Philharmonic Symphonic Wind Orchestra.
The orchestra, the core performing ensemble for the event, took on the full concert performance. Over 13 years of artistic development, the ensemble has matured into a flagship local orchestra and now serves as a cultural calling card that showcases Longgang's urban appeal.
Audience members praised the concert for giving a complete showcase of the inclusiveness of wind music as well as Longgang's rich cultural atmosphere.
Zheng Jiayong, chairman of Shenzhen Longgang Band Directors' Association, said the orchestra will make full use of the Wind Music Art Week as a vital exchange platform to foster musical ties across the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area while bringing elegant wind music to local campuses and communities.

The closing ceremony of the 2026 Longgang Wind Music Week opens on Aug 14.
