Seventeen young pioneers took part in the activity under the voluntary initiative of their parents. Rooted in the community brand Caring Pingdong, the event built a home-school-community co-governance platform, enouraging teenagers to engage in grid-based governance and greet the upcoming APEC Summit.

The activity featured two practice modulesfocusing on respecting the elderly and grid-based night inspections. In the morning, participants madebouquets and paid visits to elderly households in the neighborhood. They kept the seniors company, earning positive feedback from parents.

That evening, after receiving pre-service training from community grid workers, junior grid inspectors fanned out across residential buildings and streets. They recorded potential safety hazards on inspection sheets, practiced fire extinguisher operations and helped ensure community safety.

This activity served as a vivid example of the district-wide roll-out of the Little Community Steward Program in Longgang. Longgang piloted the program in July 2025 and kicked off district-wide promotion in July 2026.

Pingdi sub-district further advanced the initiative and rallied multiple stakeholders for a diverse range of practical activities. It encouraged children to become active participants in community-level governance.
