A Singaporean delegation led by Masagos Zulkifli, minister for social and family development, visited a smart assistive devices experience center in Longgang, Shenzhen, in South China's Guangdong province, on April 8, to discuss collaboration on aging-friendly technology.

The delegation toured the smart assistive devices showcase, featuring a variety of products ranging from helpful daily aids to advanced rehabilitation equipment, home modifications suitable for aging individuals and smart monitoring systems for the elderly.
Zulkifli expressed admiration for the center's innovative "government-enterprise collaboration, market-oriented operation" model and its comprehensive product layout, noting its alignment with Singapore's public needs.
During a symposium titled "How technology can better serve the elderly and disabled", Zheng Shishan, chairman of the center, shared the center's development journey since its founding in 2025. He expressed that the center can enhance Singapore's strengths and collaborate in promoting the international development of the assistive devices industry.
Huang Zhe, director of Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, highlighted the comprehensive intelligent manufacturing industrial chain and strong technological innovation capabilities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He emphasized the city's robust technology capabilities and its potential for collaboration with Singapore.
Masagos praised the center's professionalism and innovation, underscoring the importance of translating cutting-edge technology into public welfare. He called for breaking industry and regional barriers to build a collaborative ecosystem, aiming to bring technological innovations to the global stage.
