Top North American retailers gather in Longgang for new venture

Leading North American retail players have converged in Longgang, Shenzhen, for a high-profile retail growth event, which also marked the official launch of a dedicated cross-border retail support center in the district.

The event, hosted at the Longgang Enterprise Internationalization Service Base, is co-organized by Longgang Foreign Economic Development, a local government-affiliated entity for cross-border trade promotion, and three international business service providers: KUDOS, Acenda and WorldFirst.

It aims to build a robust pathway for local enterprises to access mainstream North American retail markets and advance high-quality growth in cross-border e-commerce.

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Longgang Foreign Economic Development and KUDOS to kickstart the operation center. Backed by top North American partners, the hub is poised to provide one-stop support covering channel access, compliance management and market expansion.

Xu Hongli, deputy district mayor of Longgang, highlighted that the upcoming APEC 2026 in Shenzhen brings golden opportunities for global cooperation. She added that Longgang is set to continue optimizing its business environment to empower local brands going global.

The roundtable forum session takes place.

Industry experts shared insights on retail access rules, cross-border finance and omnichannel operations during thematic sessions. A targeted roundtable discussion also provided practical guidance on compliance and risk management to nearly 200 participating enterprises.

The new operation center is set to become a key platform linking Longgang businesses with North American retail resources, fueling the global expansion of more Chinese brands.
