Longgang, TUV Rheinland, SUIT team up for low-altitude tech certification base

Longgang district signed a framework agreement with TUV Rheinland and Shenzhen University of Information Technology (SUIT) on March 25 to build a low-altitude technology testing and certification base.

Yu Xiquan, secretary of the Longgang District Committee of the CPC, Dr-Ing Michael Fübi, CEO of TUV Rheinland, and Miao Ningli, secretary of the Party Committee of SUIT, attended the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, the three parties will jointly establish a standardization committee and a research and training base, and carrying out in-depth cooperation in talent cultivation, technical exchange, standard formulation, training and certification, and technical services to build a world-class certification platform in Longgang.

Yu noted that Longgang is building a hub for testing, piloting and demonstrating new technologies and hopes to expand cooperation to AI and robotics to create an international benchmark for industry-university collaboration.

Miao said SUIT will utilize its talent and research strengths to advance industry-education integration, while Dr Fübi said TUV Rheinland will integrate its global expertise into SUIT's curriculum to nurture professionals of an international caliber.

TUV Rheinland is a leading global third-party testing and certification body with over 150 years of experience. SUIT ranks top among China's vocational universities, with two disciplines in the top 1 percent of the ESI global ranking. It also has strong capabilities in low-altitude technology.

Together, the three parties will boost the global competitiveness of Longgang's low-altitude economy and drive high-quality, internationalized industrial development.
