The closing ceremonies and 25 competitive sports programmes of the 15th National Games, The 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games of the People’s Republic of China, are due to take place in Shenzhen.
In detail, Shenzhen is designated to host 89 events involving 12 competitive sports programmes of The 15th National Games (accounting for 25% of the total hosted in Guangdong Province), 52 events of 7 masses’ competition programmes of The 15th National Games (accounting for 34% of the total hosted in Guangdong Province), as well as 355 events involving 4 sports programmes of and 29 events involving 2 masses’ competition programmes, of Summer Paralympics and Deaflympics under the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (respectively accounting for 19% and 20% of the total hosted in Guangdong Province). 9 districts of Shenzhen are hosting the events, including Futian District, Nanshan District, Longgang District, as introduced by He Jianhui as the deputy director of Shenzhen Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and the deputy head of the Competition Department under Shenzhen Organizing Committee of the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games.
Starting from July 01, some events of the Games take place in Shenzhen. Until now, the events of 5 sports programmes have taken place successfully, including the cycling events of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games and the finals of gateball of the 15th National Games, which have been held in Longgang District of Shenzhen. Besides, Shenzhen plans to host 21 test events and has finished 16 ones.
On October 14, the men’s U-18 football of the 15th National Games kicked off in Futian District, Bao’an District, Longgang District and Guangming District of Shenzhen. The events would last 12 days, attracting 12 teams across the nation to participate in. The men’s U-18 football belongs to the first competitive sports programme which is co-hosted by various districts of the city.
Futian District, in cooperation with Bao’an District, Longgang District and Guangming District, makes full preparations for hosting the events. The Stadium of Shenzhen Sports Center located in Futian District, Stadium of Bao’an Sports Center in Bao’an District, Stadium of Shenzhen Universiade Center in Longgang District, and Shenzhen Teenager Football Training Base, are all in good condition.
