Shenzhen-based Huawei Technologies, in partnership with China Mobile, worked with Yangquan Coal Industry Co. Ltd. in Shanxi Province to install a 5G system in the coal mines that are 534 meters underground, according to a report by Shenzhen Economic Daily.

The deepest underground network in the world, the system will help coal mine operators establish a highly efficient, reliable safety monitoring system and introduce unmanned, visualized, remote-controlled coal mine operation and maintenance.
