According to the data released by China Film Administration on Oct. 08, box office takings in China totaled 2.104 billion yuan during 2024 National Day holiday lasting from Oct. 01 to Oct. 07, with 52.09 million tickets sold. And, the ticket revenue of China’s domestic films reached 2.017 billion yuan, accounting for 95.87% of China’s total box-office revenue. The Volunteers: The Battle of Life and Death became the biggest box-office success of the period, with a ticket revenue of 805 million yuan.

Moreover, according to other statistical data generated before 21 o’clock of Oct. 07, Guangdong Province boasted the highest box-office revenue in China, which reached 248 million yuan. More specifically, Guangzhou Municipality and Shenzhen Municipality respectively took 61.401 million yuan and 60.586 million yuan at the box office.
