2nd session of 7th Longgang District People's Congress opens

The second session of the seventh Longgang District People's Congress opened April 19 at the district government's assembly hall. A total of 317 district lawmakers attended the session.

Wang pointed out that last year Longgang handled the outbreak of the pandemic in a rapid and effective way, making great achievements in pandemic control and prevention in the current phase.

The district actively adapted itself to changes of situations and its economic development reached a new level. The district carried out planning and construction that improved the quality of urban functions. It also enhanced its image by creating a better urban environment. Additionally, Longgang District has made improvement in people's livelihood.

Wang said that the achievements the district made over the past year were not easy and the district still faces many difficulties in development. It will strive to speed up the construction of a creative Longgang, a modern, international and creative eastern city center, an industry highland, and a happy home for its residents.

This year, the district expects to realize a growth of 6 percent in its GDP, a growth of 4.5 percent in added value of industrial enterprises above designated size, and a simultaneous growth in resident's income as well as finish the tasks of the annual energy conservation and emission reduction.
