Officially named Shenzhen Hidden Golf Museum, it is China’s first and only government-approved non-profit public welfare museum themed on golf. Dedicated to promoting the history and culture of modern golf originating from Scotland, the museum showcases nearly 400 years of golf civilization. It records the development of golf in early and contemporary China, and interprets the spirit and essence of this sport.

The museum consists of two main sections: the World Gallery and the China Gallery.

Covering over 400 square meters, the World Gallery houses collections and cultural relics spanning nearly four centuries from 1700 to 1980. Its holdings include tens of thousands of golf balls, clubs, trophies, medals, golf bags, artworks, ceramics and more. The exhibits illustrate how the evolution of golf balls has driven changes in clubs, equipment, courses and competition rules.

The China Gallery presents the history of nearly 50 golf courses and clubs across 28 treaty ports in China between 1870 and 1950. It also features the remarkable development and outstanding achievements of golf in China from 1984 to 2024 over four decades of reform and opening up.

Home to Shenzhen’s first mini 9-hole putting green for antique clubs, the museum offers visitors a unique experience. While touring the galleries, guests can try putting with century-old hickory putters and immerse themselves in the time-honored golf culture.

Every relic in the China Gallery tells a legendary story that embodies the distinctive charm of golf culture. We welcome all visitors to visit, exchange ideas and learn at the Hidden Golf Museum.
