The 5th Shenzhen (Longgang) Chess Masters Held in Longgang

The 5^th Shenzhen (Longgang) Chess Masters began in Longgang District of Shenzhen on February 29.

The game was hosted by General Administration of Sport of China --Athletic Chess and Cards Management Center (also called “China Chess Academy”), Chinese Chess Association (CCA), Shenzhen Bureau of Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and Longgang District People’s Government of Shenzhen. Supported by Shenzhen Mass Sports Promotion Center, Shenzhen Chess School, China Sports Lottery Management Center -- Shenzhen, and Longgang Stock and Cooperation Company, it was undertaken by Longgang District Bureau of Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and organized by Shenzhen Pengcheng Chess Club.                                        

4 foreign chess players and 4 Chinese chess players participated in the game. On March 07, the game ended. Bu Xiangzhi, who participated in the game for the first time, won the game.

The year of 2024 is the 100^th anniversary of the founding of World International Chess Federation. It’s of great significance to hold the 5^th Shenzhen (Longgang) Chess Masters. Hope the game could be helpful for Shenzhen’s development towards “A City of Mind Sports” and “an internationally-famed sports city”, expressed by Wang Zhiqiang -- the vice president of China Xiangqi Association (CXA).
