Shenzheners are required to present negative 48-hour nucleic acid test results to access public venues and public transportation starting from 12:01 a.m. Friday, according to a notice issued by the city's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters office Thursday.

Alternatively, a 24-hour COVID test record will also give the health-code holder access to public venues and transportation.

COVID measures have been tightened following reports of some locally transmitted infections in the city starting June 18, with most of them detected during community screenings.

Shenzhen reported one confirmed COVID case and an asymptomatic infection between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. Thursday, according to the city's health commission. One of the patients was found in routine COVID testing of key groups under closed-loop management, while the other was found in screening of key areas.

The two cases involved a 28-year-old man who lives in Bao'an District and an 8-year-old boy who lives in Luohu District.

The city reported three new asymptomatic COVID infections Wednesday. The patients included a 23-year-old woman in Longgang District, as well as a 20-year-old man and a 52-year-old female in Futian District.

The patients have been transferred to the city's designated medical facility for COVID treatment and are in stable condition. Epidemiological investigation related to the new infections is under way.

Futian and Longgang have designated lockdown, control and prevention areas in Shatou and Nanwan subdistricts, respectively, after the new asymptomatic infections were reported.

Residents are required to present negative 24-hour nucleic acid test results before entering Futian Sports Park, Lianhua Sports Center, Xiangmi Sports Center and Huangmugang Tennis Center starting 12 p.m. Friday, the sports venues' operator said in a notice Thursday.

Shenzhen Luohu People's Hospital on Thursday announced that it would suspend medical services at its pediatric fever clinic from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday in accordance with national and municipal epidemic prevention and control requirements.

Shenzhen Luoling Foreign Languages Experimental School, which is located in Luohu, said that it would switch to online teaching starting 2 p.m. Thursday until further notice.

Starting from 12 p.m. Thursday, all passengers entering Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport’s terminals are required to present negative 48-hour nucleic acid test results, according to the airport.
