Two heavyweight IC (integrated circuits) platforms started operation in Longgang District recently, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.
Shenzhen IC test and verification technology center and Shenzhen IC Design Longgang service platform were jointly built by the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission and the Longgang District Government.
The platforms bring together high-quality resources and services of the National IC Design Shenzhen Industrial Center (SZICC) by building an integrated platform for circuit design, testing, verification, R&D and service. They also help Longgang build an agglomeration area for the integrated circuit industry.
The test center and design platform have integrated a number of IC design service resources and purchased some high-precision instruments with a unit price of more than 1 million yuan (US$157,100). Tianxin Interconnection Technology Co. Ltd., the operator, said they can provide complete design technical support and services like system design, coding, circuit simulation, synthesis, and design verification.
Longgang District Science and Technology Innovation Bureau said that sharing large-scale scientific research instruments will not only help improve instruments' efficiency, but also provide scientific and technological resource support for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The two platforms will help small and medium-sized IC design enterprises solve problems in their R&D and industrialization processes.
They can support enterprises in solving their immediate difficulties in production and operation.
Longgang now has formed a whole IC industry chain with Baolong Industrial Zone, Luoshan Industrial Zone and Bantian Subdistrict as the bases, providing service in design, manufacturing and testing for over 60 firms in the district.
