Students, parents and residents attend the Open Day activities at SMBU's Longgang campus.

In order to allow students and parents to have an in-depth understanding of the university, SMBU opened the lab, library and dormitory areas for visiting. A nonprofit Chinese-foreign cooperative university jointly founded by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, MSU and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) with independent legal entity status, SMBU is the country's only university where teachers offer lessons in three languages: Chinese, Russian and English.

"Four majors, mathematics and applied mathematics, materials science and engineering, economics, biology and Russian are included in our dual degree program with MSU. Students passing required courses can receive two bachelor's degrees provided by both MSU and SMBU. We also design classes in smaller sizes to allow students to have sufficient interaction with teachers," said Li.

It is said that over 70 percent of the university's first batch of graduates this year have received offers to further their studies.

The university will enroll a total of 670 undergraduate students in 18 provinces this year, according to the plan.

The school adopted a comprehensive evaluation enrollment model under which the final score of students applying for the university comprises 60 percent of the college entrance examination (gaokao) result, 30 percent of SMBU autonomous ability and 10 percent of the school academic proficiency test score.

Students need to register on SMBU's enrollment website before May 23 to apply.

SMBU will open the campus for public visits on May 2, 9, 16, and 23.
