Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge is located in the center of GBA. It is one of China’s major engineering and a GBA’s major transportation hub construction project. It links Shenzhen Municipality, Guangzhou Municipality and Zhongshan Municipality. The construction of the Bridge belongs to the engineering which involves constructing and linking bridge, island and underwater tunnel. It is a world’s most difficult engineering of the same kind. It’s 24 kilometers long in total. The western part near Zhongshan mainly consists of bridge, and the eastern part near Shenzhen mainly consists of underwater tunnel. The bridge part of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge is about 17.2 kilometers long and the underwater tunnel part is about 6.8 kilometers long.
Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge would be constructed completely and open to traffic in 2024. At that time, the time in travelling from Shenzhen to Zhongshan would be reduced from about 2 hours to about 20 minutes.
