At 8:00 pm, Oct. 21, “Sing My City” -- China New Era Urban Folk Collection Activity gave its beginning performance at OH Bay of Shenzhen. Meanwhile, China Urban Folk (Shenzhen) Releasing Center was inaugurated.
China Urban Folk (Shenzhen) Releasing Center is a platform to especially release China and overseas original folk music. The Releasing Center has its multiple cultural and artistic media publicity methods and can take advantages of Shenzhen’s rich musical resources to attract worldwide more folk singers and composers to compose and sing more songs about Shenzhen and further to show the world China’s urban folk. It aims at introducing Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, GBA even the whole China and deepening China and foreign exchanges through folk music.
The Activity includes various parts, such as holding musical exhibition and performance, releasing new urban folk songs, making popularity charts, collecting songs, showing excellent original compositions, organizing folk saloon. The top 5 in the popularity chart and among the compositions collected would be awarded. And, the compositions about recording Shenzhen, together with the excellent compositions collected, would be played during the Activity.
The activity would last over 2 months. 1 commencement folk concert, 8 interactive folk concerts and 1 ceremony would be held during the over 2 months. 50 groups of folk singers from China’s over 20 cities would give their performances.
Besides, the China Urban Folk Collection Activity also includes GBA special performances, which invites artists from Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Huizhou and many other cities in China to perform, so as to show the characteristics of folks in GBA, to further show the cultural exchange and integration among GBA cities and to fasten the tie among GBA cites through GBA culture.
