Global Cities Index: Shenzhen Tops China’s Inland Cities

On February 20, Schroders -- an internationally-famed asset management group publicized the new global cities index ranking list. Shenzhen ranks number 19 with a comprehensive score of 9.08 (measured on a scale of 1 point to ten points), which is one place higher than last year, and tops among China’s inland cities.  

Based on four factors as economy, environment, innovation, transportation, the ranking list relies on global strongest cities economic index and chooses up the cities with the best development prospect. It is a publicly-accepted and authoritative list for worldwide investors. The ranking list also refers to many other factors as prospective policy, convenient transportation infrastructure, world-class university.

The top three of the list are San Francisco, Boston and London. Except for Shenzhen, Chinese cities as Xianggang (number 9), Beijing (number 24), Shanghai (number 25) and Hangzhou (number 27) are also among top 30 of the list. As Schroders expressed, the five cities all have strong-powered universities and successful science and technology enterprises so that they can be on the list.
