During the 8 days’ National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday spanning from Oct. 01 to Oct. 08, China witnessed 888 million domestic tourist trips, which increased by 123 million from the 7 days’ National Day holiday of the previous year, leading to the total tourism revenue of 809.006 billion yuan which represented an increase of 108.189 billion yuan as compared with the previous year, according to the calculation by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC. The 8-day holiday became extremely hot as it embraced the 2 festivals. It was characterized by the innovative cultural and tourist experiences powered by science and technology. And, a series of public beneficial measures, including 29,000 cultural and tourist events and over 480 million yuan’s worth of consumption subsidies, promoted the prosperity of the holiday.
According to the data from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, the province received 65.176 million visitors in total during Oct. 01-08, which surged by 11.5% from the 7-day National Day holiday of 2024, and generated a total tourism revenue of 61.32 billion yuan, which surged by 14.2% year on year. In Guangdong Province, the 8 days’ holiday witnessed about 3,000 cultural and tourism events which immersed the visitors in the charms of Lingnan Culture, featured the series events themed the upcoming 15th National Games, and provided the cultural and tourism coupons of 20 million yuan and other diversified discounts to spur the holiday consumption.
Shenzhen of Guangdong Province recorded 9.2026 million visits made during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday lasting from Oct. 01 to Oct. 08 of this year, surging by 12.4% from the 7 days’ National Day holiday of the previous year. The number of the inbound visitors increased by 145.2% to 91,000 in total. And, the city’s tourism revenues generated during the holiday totaled 8.94 billion yuan, up 17.6% year on year, according to Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports. A batch of world-class cultural and tourist spots, including “Eye of GBA” “Theatre of Joy”, Minghua Cruise Ship on Shekou Sea World, Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum, attracted a large number of visitors during the holiday.
During Oct. 01-08, Longgang District of Shenzhen received 1.7092 million visitors, which increased by 9.33% from the previous year and resulted in a year-on-year increase of 16.2% in the tourism revenue which stood at 1.66 billion yuan totally. Notably on the Mid-Autumn Festival which fell on October 06, a festive humanity-and-robot-interaction activity took place at the Robots Block in Longgang District, during which various humanoid robots danced with the visitors, and humanoid robots in Chinese traditional costume amused the visitors at the Robots’ 6S Store at the robot-themed block.
