According to the State Taxation Administration, internet platform operators should file to related taxation authorities the tax-related information, including the identities of and the incomes of the on-the-platform merchants and practitioners, commencing the upcoming October 01. And, related taxation authorities and major internet platforms have basically made preparation for it.
The practice is based on the Regulations on Internet Platform Operators’ Submission of Tax-related Information, which was released on this June.
According to the related laws and regulations of the state, internet platform operators are obligated to remind the on-the-platform merchants of their obligations to register in accordance with laws, and the merchants should publicize conspicuously the information on their licensed businesses on the homepages of their online stores, stated by the director of the Tax Science Institute of State Taxation Administration.
Platform economy is virtual, trans-sector and decentralized in nature. A merchant who runs over one online store on a single internet platform or different internet platforms should report the total of its business revenues.
And, the related taxation authorities warn that the merchants and practitioners on the internet platforms should honestly report within the designated period, all their sales revenues generated on various internet platforms and through offline channels, or be exposed to related legal sanctions.
