On July 14, the half-year report on China’s foreign trade performance came out.
According to the Customs, the nation’s total goods imports and exports reached 21.79 trillion yuan during the first half of this year, with the year-on-year growth going up 0.4% from that of the first 5 months, to 2.9%.
Specifically during the January-June period, the exports totaled 13 trillion yuan for the first time on the historical record, up 7.2% as compared with that period of the previous year. And, the imports, during the first half of this year, hit 8.79 trillion yuan, recording a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, which narrowed by 1.1% as compared with that of the first 5 months.
In June, nation’s total volume of import and export, the import volume, and the export volume all returned to surge at a high speed.
The nation’s foreign trade showed its great resilience, posting the overall growth, the improved performance and the controlled variables, in the first 6 months of the year, in spite of the complicated and severe global situation.
