On the morning of 09 October 2025, the flame for the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games of the PRC, was lit at Sci-Research Wharf of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey.
The source of the flame is from the gas hydrate grasped at 1522 meters under South China Sea, exemplifying the sustainable ideas and principles of the Games.
The flame-lighting ceremony marks the start of the 30 days’ countdown to the Games.
It’s introduced that the torches would be relayed across Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in November after the flame was lit.
