The National Games for Persons with Disabilities is a comprehensive sports games held every four years especially for the disabled. The National Special Olympic Games is held every four years for persons with mental disabilities. It was permitted on October, 2021 that the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games should be hosted cooperatively by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (China). The opening ceremony would be held on December 08, 2025, at Tianhe Sports Center, Guangzhou. The closing ceremony would be held on December 15, at Bao’an Joy Theatre of Shenzhen.
The Games follows the idea of “being green, shared, open and honest”. It’s required to be “simple, safe and colorful” and be uniquely “innovative, inclusive and instructive”. The slogan of the Games is “pursuing dreams in GBA for a wonderful life”.
The Games share the same emblem and mascots with the 15th National Games of the PRC.
