甘坑生态文化创意村充分利用甘坑老村现有资源和甘坑社区山地资源丰富的优势，在对甘坑老村更新改造的基础上进行建设，项目总占地面积约17万平方米，成为集本土客家乡土饮食、传统民居生活、蔬菜种植、土特产展示、乡土文化休闲、观光等功能于一体的传统民俗文化体验基地。
　　By the full utilization of existing resources of Gankeng old village and plentiful hilly resource in Gankeng Community, Gankeng Ecological Cultural Creative Village is constructed on base of the renewal and reconstruction of Gankeng old village. Covering a total area of 170,000 square meters, Gankeng Community, Gankeng Ecological Cultural Creative Village is a traditional folk culture experience base integrating local Hakka foods, traditional residents life, vegetable plant, local specialty exhibition, rural cultural entertainment and tourism.
　　项目一期于2013年建成开业。项目分市民餐饮休闲集散地、企业主题文化展示区、生态体验观光旅游区3个功能区，改造老村房屋150间，作为蔬菜、番薯、芋头、花生、菜干、豆类等土特产展示区；改造老村旧厂房2.5万平方米，改造成庭院式饮食、手工磨豆腐、手工肉丸、手工榨花生油、手工制作糕点等加工区；并把部分原村民房屋改造为庭院式民居生活区，把原有的130亩菜地改造成生态农业土特产、蔬菜种植体验区，让现代人可以亲身体验农耕生活；逐步注入观、品、赏、习、书、画、摄、购等城市生活要素，增加游客的参与性，让游客在尽情游玩的同时，可以采摘蔬菜到厨房加工，可以在鱼塘钓鱼虾到厨房亲自烹制，真正体验农耕之乐。
　　To be completed and open in 2013, Phase 1 covers three functional areas: citizen catering & entertainment area, enterprise theme culture exhibition area, and ecological experience tour area. 150 pieces of houses in old village were reconstructed to exhibit local specialty such as vegetables, sweet potatoes, taros, peanuts, dried vegetables, and beans. 25,000 square meters plants in old village were reconstructed to process courtyard foods, hand-made bean-curd, hand-made burger, hand-made peanut oil and hand-made cakes. Additionally, part of villagers’ houses were rebuilt as courtyard living area. While 130mu vegetable fields were reconstructed as ecological agricultural local specialty an vegetable plant experience area so that modernists can experience the agricultural life. Many urban living elements such as looking, tasting, enjoying, studying, writing, painting, shooting, and shopping will be added gradually to increase the attendance of tourists so that they can experience the agricultural fun by picking up vegetables and catching fishes and prawns to cook in kitchen when enjoying the tourism.
