31st Chengdu Summer Universiade would be inaugurated at 20:00, July 28, at the main stadium of Donganhu Sports Garden in Chengdu, with 99% of its inauguration personnel are university students.
It is known that 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade is the 5th FISU World University Games held by China, following 2001 Beijing Summer Universiade, 2009 Harbin Winter Universiade, 2011 Shenzhen Summer Universiade, and 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade. The mascot of 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade is called “Rongbao”, an image based on Panda Zhi Ma holding a torch with its flame in the shape of number “31”. The slogan is “Chengdu Makes Dream Come True”. 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade would have 18 sports and 269 events, as well as some educational and cultural activities, with the purpose of promoting the communication among university athletes from every corner of the world.

For 31st Summer Universiade, the host has built and extended 49 venues. And, it would be the 1st FISU World University Games and the 1st China-hosting large-scale games using ultra-high-definition (4K) technology to broadcast its 18 sports and the opening and closing ceremonies.
And, 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade would have its closing ceremony at 20:00, August 08, at Chengdu Open Air Music Garden.
