Work on Dayun Artificial Intelligence Town starts

Work on the construction of Dayun Artificial Intelligence (AI) Town officially started in Henggang Subdistrict, Longgang District, on Wednesday morning, sznews.com reported.

The AI town, with an investment of about 700 million yuan (US$99.96 million), includes renovating the existing Henggang 228 industrial park. The first phase of the project will be opened in July next year.

The town, adjacent to Shuiguan Expressway in the south, is part of the expansion area of Dayun New Town and is surrounded by mountains on the east, west and north. It will cover an area of about 343,400 square meters, with a total construction area of 607,600 square meters.

Work on the second phase of the project is scheduled to start in March 2022, and open in March 2023.

According to sources with Shenzhen Longgang Industrial Investment Service Group Co. Ltd., which is in charge of the renovation, the town will be built into a State-level whole-industry-chain AI town integrating R&D, production and living in three years.

It is also expected that it will be turned into an industrial cluster town with an output value of 10 billion yuan and tax revenue of 1 billion yuan in five to eight years.

An AIOS algorithm training platform and a variety of intelligent terminals, such as intelligent parking, intelligent energy consumption, intelligent security and facial recognition, will be built in the town, according to the plan.
